Course Overview

This program provides advanced education and research to develop breadth of knowledge and depth of expertise in the engineering of telecommunication networks and systems. Strong emphasis is placed on the areas of High Speed/broadband Computer Communications Networks, Optical Communications, and Wireless/Satellite Communications. Career Opportunities

Telecommunications engineers design and install equipment used for transmitting wired phone, cellular, cable and broadband data. Their day-to-day responsibilities can include working with copper or fibber optic cabling, complex networks and switching systems. Telecommunications engineers may be employed by wired and wireless telecommunications companies, engineering consulting firms or government agencies.
